The last full week before Christmas – yikes! How are we all feeling? If ever a week needed a plan, it’s this one! Time is stretched with preparation for Christmas, catching up with friends and closing off your business year. So set yourself up for a productive week by prioritising the most important things. Nobody has time for a lengthy exercise so here are some tips on how to prioritise your tasks.
You can identify the essential things by analysing your To Do list and categorising your tasks as follows:
1) Must Do
2) Should Do
3) Could Do
But how do you decide which category for which task? Here is some more information:
Must Do Tasks
Business Critical/ For Key Stakeholders/Issues if not done this week
Should Do Tasks
Adds value but not critical/The extra 20% that may not be noticed by anyone but you
Could Do Tasks
A great idea but not needed right now, ‘nice to have – could do but only if you have extra time
Simplify Things
So once you know how to prioritise your tasks, simplify your days this week by muting the phone, closing out of Email from time to time and using at least 1 Time Block per day to get those key things done.
Be productive – I know you can do it! 😉
